Seniors Count Rally 2016
May 11 - More than 500 older adults joined this year's “Seniors Count” Rally 2016 at the State Capitol. The event brought elected officials, community service providers and committed advocates together in support of making our state “truly the Golden State for Californians in their golden years."

Gary and Mary West have provided $11.8 million for an emergency unit being planned for UC San Diego’s Thornton Hospital that will be the first in the region to focus solely on seniors.
The Foundation partners with nonprofit community organizations to provide high-quality services to low-income older adults which help them remain independent and healthy for as long as possible.
The Foundation partners with best-in-class nonprofit organizations that provide high-quality training and deployment of service canines to seniors, veterans, individuals with limited mobility and police K-9 units. In addition, the Foundation supports the construction of emergency shelter and triage buildings for rescued dogs.

The Gary and Mary West Foundation seeks to enable seniors to successfully age, living life on their own terms with access to high-quality health and support services that preserve and protect their dignity, quality of life and independence through purposeful philanthropic investment. We also support the deployment of service canines to seniors and disabled veterans of the Armed forces of the United States.
