- The Foundation supports the West Health Initiative whose aim is to lower the cost of health care. Two of the Initiative's vehicles created to achieve this goal include the West Wireless Health Institute, whose mission is to lower health care costs through innovative technology and solutions. Founded in March 2009, the independent nonprofit medical research organization is dedicated to innovating, validating, and advocating for the use of technologies including wireless medical devices to transform medicine. In January 2012, the West Health Policy Center was launched in Washington, D.C. with the goal of saving up to $100 billion in cumulative health care costs within ten years. The Policy Center's sole focus and funding structure make it a valuable voice to policy makers and thought leaders as government tackles the problem of rising health care costs.

- The Foundation is dedicated to assisting low-income, vulnerable seniors. We support state-of-the-art senior centers and other home and community-based services that enable older adults to age safely and with dignity in their homes. Our grants focus on meeting basic needs such as shelter, nutrition, health and socialization, enhancing an individual's ability to meet those needs, support for family caregivers, and the coordination of service delivery among and within agencies.

- The Foundation focuses on strategies that prepare youth with distinct and marketable skills to build their lives and careers. Our emphasis is on highly-focused educational programs that prepare young adults with necessary skills to be successful in a career of their choice. Our approach is to create a pathway for advancement that connects youth to high-wage, high-growth sectors.

- The Foundation supports Service Animals who serve as law enforcement canine units, as well as companion and service dogs for select populations including older adults and injured military veterans.
Gary & Mary West Foundation is a private non-operating foundation that funds tax-exempt organizations in the regions of San Diego, California, and Omaha, Nebraska. The Foundation was established in 2006 through the generosity of successful entrepreneurs Gary and Mary West. The couple founded West Corporation, a leading provider of customer relationship management solutions headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
Grants are made only to non-profit 501(c)3 organizations.
